SORRY FOR THE HIATUS
Over the past couple weeks, my life of doing nothing has experienced a sudden change of events, to become somewhat hectic. Days following the Bob Dylan concert last week, my girlfriend was rushed to the hospital for unbearable pains, which deserved my undivided attention for a few days. Later in the week, my best friends and I made a trip to Chicago to celebrate my sisters wedding, which was Friday. We experienced the Chicago nightlife for the first time since turning 21 and had the time of our lives. On Friday and Saturday, family came into town and the trip only got better. It was an unforgettable experience!
For the blog, I have decided to change things up. Since I am a fan of chaos, I am throwing out the original schedule (I decided to follow on posts) and go all out on whatever is on my mind. I will not post everyday, but I will spend more time to create masterpieces, like I have for todays blog, with my future posts.
KLICKS ULTIMATE MOVIE COUNTDOWN
Sense I consider myself as a self-proclaimed Movie Aficionado, I have decided to dig into my inner depths for this work of art. I am a fan of countdowns, so I felt like starting off by ranking my favorite movies of all-time. The Internet Movie Database (imdb.com) has a list compiled of 250 blockbusters... so I decided to do 251. Go big or go home, my friends. This isn't necessarily a list of what I believe to be the best movies ever filmed, but simply a countdown of my favorite. So if I get comments about why I think Joe Dirt is a better movie than Gran Torino, it's not because I think it deserves more Oscars, but I simply get more personal enjoyment out of it.
I am also going to stay on this theme for the next couple blog posts with my favorite movie characters and actors of all-time, but for now, let's get on with the countdown!! Let me know what you think!

No Good Title Today... Go Blue!

POPPIN' MY CULTURE/WEEKLY NEWS STORY
Happy Devil's Night, friends! Tonight, I am recapping some of Hollywood's finest celebrity's news stories, as well as a couple random news updates that the world needs to know. Since it is a Saturday night and the University of Michigan game is starting... gonna get straight to business!
NOTRE DAME TRAGEDY
First off, I would like to send my regards to the family of Notre Dame student Declan Sullivan, for the great loss they have endured this past week. He was filming practice during a high wind storm earlier this week, and the lift that was supporting him toppled over, taking his life away. It is a horrible tragedy that should have/could have been avoided. He commented on Twitter, prior to filming, about the concern of the dreadful winds. Now, the controversy comes into play. I'm sure, like most loyal student assistants would do, Declan still decided to film to help out his beloved program in filming practice... but... he should have never been allowed the opportunity to do so by the coaches or staff. No piece of f*****' practice football footage is worth a students life... no piece of ANY type of footage is worth a life. The players could have went on and practiced the same as always, reviewing any number of the 3,000,000 pieces of film the school has on computers or in storage. Simply, it is an injury that could have been avoided and the life of Declan could have been saved by ONE responsible coach... Prayers be with you.
JUST ANOTHER CHARLIE SHEEN FAMILY VACATION
On the lighter side, Charlie Sheen strikes again! Earlier in the week, one of my favorite Hollywood Trainwrecks, Charlie Sheen, went to New York City with his ex-wife (Denise Richards) and children for a 'family vacation.' In the wee hours of the mourning, hotel security was sent to the Room of Sheen. When they get there, they are greeted by TMZ's next great story! Naked and blitz-hammered, Sheen was in a crazed-rampage, with an unknown broad, who "feared for her life."
"She was fearing for her life and was naked," reports Life & Style Magazine. "Charlie was incoherent, but started screaming slurs at the cops. They recognized him immediately and gave him two options: 1) They could take him to the hospital or take him down to the station. Charlie chose the hospital."
Charlie's family was apparently asleep in another room. What a winner...
ROCKSTAR WEDDING
Russell Brand and Katy Perry wed in a private ceremony in India. The only news resulting from this story... my girlfriend now has a reduced chance to marry Russell Brand. Odds are in my favor, you bastard! But best of wishes to the recovering sex addict and to the popular pin-up for teenage boys... wish you two the best!

The first Zombie outbreak has officially occurred in New York City... but the United States is NOT turning into Zombieland because of it. To promote the upcoming series The Walking Dead, over two-dozen film promoters dressed up in Manhattan (and 25 other cities worldwide) to pump in the Halloween premiere. Apparently, some people freaked out, while others just stared and took pictures, but nonetheless, I will give them props for the publicity stunt. Hilarious and creative, I might actually watch a couple minutes of the show now.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES
It has been announced that the third installment of the most-recent Batman series is to be released in July of 2012. It will be titled The Dark Knight Rises... quite original... and also stated that the Riddler will not be the star villain. They planned to have the epic return of the Joker, but since Heath Ledger kind of kicked the bucket in the meantime, the movie plans to introduce a few new faces, but start where that have previously left off. It will be interesting to see how they pull this mess off, but to top their last blockbuster... it better be phenomenal.

The world's single-greatest athlete in professional sports history is finally making a break into the film industry, after various shows and appearances on cable TV. Since my boy Chad, "loves sex," so much, he has decided to release a sexual education film on 'how to please a woman'... starring... himself! They planned to have the epic return of the Joker, but since Heath Ledger kind of kicked the bucket in the meantime, the movie plans to introduce a few new faces, but start where that have previously left off. It will be interesting to see how they pull this mess off, but to top their last blockbuster... it better be phenomenal.

Top 10 Halloween Movie Countdown!

Welcome back, you sexy animals! Every Thursday, I will be discussing various movies that I recommend you check out in the upcoming few days and since we have everyone's favorite holiday coming up, I got something a little more special than the norm. I have thought deeply about some of my favorite spooky/Halloweeny type films since my childhood and put together a list of my Top 10 favorite Halloween/horror films. Not all of them are the 'iconic' horror films of our time, but simply some of my favorite movies to watch this time of the year. So let's get this shit started!
10. HALLOWEENTOWN
Halloweentown was my absolute favorite movie to pump me up for the Halloween season during my childhood. It was originally a Disney TV movie about a girl who wanted to get her witch training (family tradition) in before she would lose her powers. After a series of events and a mystical bus ride, they arrive in the single sweetest place on Earth... Halloweentown. The story continues, but the overall concept was simply the bomb. It was initially a childhood dream to walk to walk the streets of Halloweentown, but has now officially transformed to a life mission to stumble upon the magic bus to take me there!
9. SCREAM
F*****' Scream is one of the most ridiculous series of movies released in the past ten years, and thankfully they are producing a new one! Yes, Scream is an absolutely awful movie, but the concept behind it is great. A group of friends with terror being reined upon them from one of the most hilarious villains of all time, whom just so happened to be in that group of friends! Ha! Even though the acting and many of the scenes make me want to regurgitate (due to the superb on-screen acting skills they gifted us with), I can't get enough of the Scream series and can't wait for the new one to hit the screens!
8. GHOSTBUSTERS
No Halloween can go without one of the greatest comedies ever filmed. The Ghostbusters brought us laughs through their various adventures, but none more than the original movie. With a cast of greats, such as Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, and Rick Moranis, they were set up for greatness before ever writing the script. Inspiring a group of friends at every Halloween party you will attend, the Ghostbuster really created a pop culture icon. I will continue to watch the boys in beige clean up the streets of the Big Apple for years to come.

Anthony Hopkins is one of the most terrifying actors in the film industry, simply because the villain he developed in this film... Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Even though I do not necessarily get joy when I watch the movie, it is one everybody needs to see!

To this day, when children knock on the door to get free candy on Halloween, I have a feeling of anxiety giving a child in a Michael Myers mask candy. Halloween is one of the most epic films of all time, full of scenes that will make your arm bleed from your girlfriend grabbing it too tight. I absolutely love, love, love this movie, but still have a hard time watching it, due to the creepiest f*****' guy that horror movies have created so far.

In every Top 10 of horror movies, The Exorcist gives you one of the most gut-wrenching tales of all time. The concept of demons possessing people is horrifying as is, but when it takes over this little girl, it just makes the idea so much more terrifying. It doesn't necessarily make you jump or keep you on edge like most horror films, but will stick with you for the rest of your life. To make it even more creepy, the graphics and effects that the early-70's produced simply topped it off. Not as over the top as films now of days, just Grade-A f***** up.

LOVE THIS MOVIE! Sweeney Todd is played by Johnny Depp (the actor of few personalities), whom was the perfect selection for this movie. Yes, it was a musical, which turned some friends off from it, but the lyrics and writing in this movie a top-notch hilarious and disturbing. He owns a barbershop and shares a building with Mrs. Lovett, played by the creepy Helena Carter, who just so happens to own a meat pie business. Combined, they create such a sinister duo and create one of the most horrific, disgusting, and brilliant films of the Millennium.
3. SAW I - III
Nothing would be more terrifying than waking up in a dingy, dark room with your body in shackles, a rotating saw between your fingers, and a brace connected to your head that is capable of ripping your jaw into pieces. The Saw series had the potential to be a masterpiece, but went about four movies too far. The first three stayed with Tobin Bell, a connected cast and plot line, and was pretty f*****' realistic, which is the most unpleasing element about the films. Saw was a classic case of putting the clues together to basically save your life, or the lives of others around you. The demented choices individuals had to make really made you think, "What would I do?!" Saw, especially the first III, are a must in every Halloween movie watch list. Even though the new ones may have pushed the limits a little too far, the first III created the brilliance that everyone needs to experience.

The Shining is the single greatest horror movie of all-time. Even though many movies compare to the evilness and horror, nothing compares the the brilliance of the character Jack Torrance, writer and psychotic father played by Jack Nicholson. He brought horror films to a new level with this movie. Even though he had such an epic performance, I believe every horror movie needs one element to push it over the edge and freak the living shit out of me... one creepy f*****' kid. His son has the ability to see psychic visions of the future and past, which brings in the ultimate creep-factor of this story. Every scary movie-goer certainly needs to watch this movie. I watch it year after year, and get freaked out more each time I watch it.

Jesse Eisenburg and Woody Harrelson team up to be the most badass zombie killing force the film industry has ever seen. The combination of zombie ass whoopin', Twinkie huntin' and comic relief created one of the best movies of the decade. If you do not have a sick, somewhat dry sense of humor, you may think the movie is simply average, but when take in the full elements of Zombieland, you are witnessing a true masterpiece of our time. It is a brilliant story of over-coming loss, making unexpected friendships and falling in love... to some extent. Funniest f*****' horror movie I have ever seen, which will soon find a permanent residence in my DVD collection. It is a MUST SEE if you enjoy the true beauty of the film industry.

Game of the Day: Game One: Texas Rangers vs San Fransisco Giants - My Pick: Texas Rangers
MUSIC OF THE MOMENT
I this blog segment, I am going to talk about some of my favorite songs, artists, and albums of the moment that fit my melodic needs. Since I have been laid up from surgery, I have dove to the deepest depths of my iTunes library to add some what of a variety in my pretty basic life. Thankfully, my iTunes is well diverse, catering to my various needs and mood swings to get me through the day. Here is some of the tuneage that have been blessing my ears over the past week.
With many new musicians and styles of music arising day-to-day, many artists begin to fade out with their time. Either their music style begins to fade, they begin to grow old, or they simply can't compete with the new craves of the listeners. Bob Dylan does not fall under that categorization. For decades, he hasn't only gifted us with his words, but his heart and soul. His music is a poetry of the industry today. From blues to rock, Dylan has touched many realms with his diverse, rhythmic style.
This coming Friday, I am going to see Bob Dylan perform in Kalamazoo with my family, which motivated me to dig deeper into much of his music that I have previously not yet been adapt to. What stayed constant through all of his different songs through over four decades was that every song told a story from his heart. The passion and creativity is so thick in his music, that many musicians now of days will never be able to match his poetic brilliance. Even though Bob Dylan may be viewed as an artist of the past and these Times They are a Changin', Bob Dylan will always provide my ears and mind with comfort and relaxation for years to come.
Song of the Moment: The Kids - B.o.B. featuring Janelle Monae
B.o.B. is a hot new artist that I latched onto right away. Providing us with a mix of hip hop, pop and R&B, B.o.B. is topping the charts. The one thing that stands out about him to me is that he does much more with his voice and music that other comparable 'rappers.' He adds a light flow to the music by mixing his smooth raps with an R&B type vocal performance in many of his choruses. It initially grabbed me when I saw him open for Jay Z and Eminem at Comerica Park, rating his performance along with some of the other best acts I have previously seen, which I surely was not expecting.
I picked The Kids my Song of the Moment, because it brings his B.o.B. kind of flow and vocal presence with the soul of Janelle Monae. It's a simple song, but I just love it! You don't have to like rap to like this song (which is a definite plus), so you should check it out if you previously haven't. B.o.B. is also the artist of hits Magic, Airplanes, and Nothin' On You, which have been much more prevalent on the radio.
Album of the Moment: Enema of the State - blink 182
Enema of the State is the album, that in my mind, single handedly changed the landscape of rock in the early-Millennium. blink 182 released this album in 1999 and hit stardom instantly. It was their third album, but the first one that the world welcomed with open ears. With hits like All the Small Things, Adam's Song, and What's My Age Again?, blink was topping the chats with their newly created pop-punk style for months. This new sound was extremely catchy and slowly began to transform the punk rock scene with the upbeat, driving style.
Also, blink instantly connected to the school-aged and college generations with songs relating to teenage problems, school, dating, partying, and living the life of a kid. With songs like Going Away to College, Mutt, and other various hits, Enema of the State still has my heart clamped in its vice, finding me listening to songs off it nearly every day. It was by far my most listened to album in middle school, high school, and even college, finding a near-permanent home in my car CD player for over five months my junior year at WMU. This is my favorite album of all time and probably will be for much of my adult life.
If you never cared for Bob Dylan, never give rappers a chance, or don't enjoy music... I am sorry to hear that, but hope you will give these picks a second, or even a first, chance. The Week in Sports

Game of the Day: Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics - My Pick: Miami Heat
Welcome to "Boredom of a College Grad." This is my first actual post, but please check out the introduction post from earlier today to give you a clearer picture of why I am wasting my, as well as your, time today. Since today is Tuesday, I am going to have a quick recap of the previous week in sports, give a couple future predictions, and probably frustrate a few Michigan State fans out there, due to demoralization that Iowa is going to bring to the fifth ranked Spartan football program this coming weekend... but we will get there with time.
MLB
The Rangers knocked off my Yankees and the Giants beat down the Phillies to make it to the world series. I believe the ratings will suck, because no one really cares about the Rangers or the Giants, but I will thoroughly enjoy this series. The Rangers powerhouse offense is a joy to watch and I think they will have a field day against the Giants if everyone manages to stay healthy during the series. Josh Hamilton is hotter than ever and won't let up. Even though Tim Lincecum does make me smile, I don't think the Giants are strong enough to stop Texas. The Giants will have blurps of success, but won't have enough. I predict that the Rangers will win the series in six games, but have the gut feeling they could pull it off in five.
NCAAF
Another #1 seed falls and the most consistently ranked team still does not break the top two. I believe Auburn will slip up sooner or later just like the rest of the world and the Ducks always find a way to blow a cheap win, but I do not believe we will ever see Boise State or Texas Christian in the BCS Championship. I would love to see either of them make it, but do not think they would be able to compete with an SEC powerhouse like Alabama (or Auburn if they survive). I really hope Auburn and Oregon actually DO remain undefeated, because I think that would be a just championship, but if one falls it will become a controversial nightmare.
Also, Western Michigan won big this week on the road again. With their team 1-2 at home, I'm sure they won't disappoint with another WMU home performance this week. I hope they will pull it off against 6-2 Northern Illinois, but they will have to pull off something miraculous to shut down their high powered, MAC-crushing offense.
Finally, the Michigan State Spartans did manage to sneak by the Northwestern...... whatever they are. They did play somewhat good, but their defense acted like they were facing Michael Vick in his prime... but it was simply Dan Persa. Don't get me wrong, Persa played one hell of a game, but I think MSU has more than Northwestern. Iowa is up next, it'd be nice to see State make a Championship push, but after Iowa's loss at home to Wisconsin... I think the Hawkeyes will be ready to play.
NFL
The Cowboys are worthless. The Saints lose to the Browns. Brett Favre continues his journey to be admitted to a nursing home by the age of 45. Refs botch a call that costs the Dolphins the game. The Buccaneers are good. The Lions make it out of a week without a loss. What is going on in the NFL!? My response... who cares. As long as the Cowboys lose and the Lions don't play... it is a successful week in the NFL.
Well, that's all I have for The Week in Sports. I could have talked more about the Wings dominance in the NFL, the Heat preparing to go undefeated, and other various games, but this is all I have for today! Feel free to comment and dispute your thoughts!

I believe Auburn will slip up sooner or later just like the rest of the world and the Ducks always find a way to blow a cheap win, but I do not believe we will ever see Boise State or Texas Christian in the BCS Championship. I would love to see either of them make it, but do not think they would be able to compete with an SEC powerhouse like Alabama (or Auburn if they survive). I really hope Auburn and Oregon actually DO remain undefeated, because I think that would be a just championship, but if one falls it will become a controversial nightmare.
Also, Western Michigan won big this week on the road again. With their team 1-2 at home, I'm sure they won't disappoint with another WMU home performance this week. I hope they will pull it off against 6-2 Northern Illinois, but they will have to pull off something miraculous to shut down their high powered, MAC-crushing offense.
Finally, the Michigan State Spartans did manage to sneak by the Northwestern...... whatever they are. They did play somewhat good, but their defense acted like they were facing Michael Vick in his prime... but it was simply Dan Persa. Don't get me wrong, Persa played one hell of a game, but I think MSU has more than Northwestern. Iowa is up next, it'd be nice to see State make a Championship push, but after Iowa's loss at home to Wisconsin... I think the Hawkeyes will be ready to play.
NFL
The Cowboys are worthless. The Saints lose to the Browns. Brett Favre continues his journey to be admitted to a nursing home by the age of 45. Refs botch a call that costs the Dolphins the game. The Buccaneers are good. The Lions make it out of a week without a loss. What is going on in the NFL!? My response... who cares. As long as the Cowboys lose and the Lions don't play... it is a successful week in the NFL.
